Bald Head Island
Reachable only by ferry, Bald Head is Brunswick’s most resort-styled island. You’ll feel right at home, as golf carts are the primary transportation on this no-cars allowed, ecological wonder. In fact, Bald Head Island is so preserved and conservation friendly that 50% of North Carolina’s sea-turtle nesting takes place on its shores. A soft pastel-colored village filled with quaint shops and restaurants accentuated by the oldest lighthouse in North Carolina, Old Baldy, is the ideal place to relax and compare scorecards.
